Subject:Awaji pottery or Chinese?
Posted By: Sunny Mon, Nov 06, 2017 IP:

Dear Forum members,

I have a question regarding a jar i have at home.
It has the style of Awaji pottery but it could maybe also be chinese.
I am kind of in the dark with this object.
Does one of you can identify the jar in terms of age , style and perhaps value?
It has a 5 character mark on the bottom side.
Height of 22 centimeter.

Would really appreciate if one of the forum members has time to look at this object.

Bottom marking reads:
葭原焼 Yoshihara-yaki
錦泉 Nishikiizumi
According to Japanese language net sites the Nishiizumi
kiln was operated between 1920-1957 in Akashi, Hyogo
Prefecture. Yoshihara is the name of person who started
the operation with the help of Shirazu Kurakichi.
Second generation Shirazu Koji closed it in 1957.

With regards,
