Subject:Help to Identify this artwork
Posted By: John Flicker Sun, Nov 05, 2017 IP: 174.118.113.189

These were given to my Japanese wife and I as a gift.
Wondering the age/value of the artwork.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The text is a citation from a known poem of Li Bai (Li Po)
I could not find translation on net, therefore
I had to do it myself.

一枝濃艶露擬香 (She is like) a dew covered
shank (of peony) in full bloom scatters fragrances

鐡岩漫墨 Tieyan Manmo (Iron Rock Covered with Ink) Art-name signature of calligrapher

Seal reads;
銕道 Tie Dao (Iron Path)

I couldn`t find any artist under this name on net.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thank you so much for taking the time to research this!! I do greatly appreciate it!
I know the artwork was handed down to my wife, from her parents and from her grandmother. I was told the artwork was created before 1940, maybe 1930. As my wife's grandmother was quite young when she got them.
Thank you for the translation also.

Best regards,
John Flicker
