You can't expect too much help if you selfishly just ask for a translation. This is not a free translating service, it is a group of people interested in Oriental things, who share information AND IMAGES of these things so that our collective knowledge increases.

The three characters are so simple, a quick look at a dictionary would give you the answer.

But, if you had bothered to share pictures of the cups side on, others could comment on whether they might be Chinese or Japanese, and whether they are for tea or perhaps Japanese sobachoko for noodles.

You might be surprised what you can learn if you think of sharing with the other people on this forum rather than just satisfying your own immediate needs.

I agree with Mikeoz.
Besides that, you've posted this cups with these signatures already on Oct. 02 where I gave you possible translations in Japanese and Chinese.
So I'm wondering, if you don't agree with my answer, just say so.
Regards,
Martin.

Gary, I'm not sure what the pretext is regarding the other reply. I'm not an expert, or anything close, but I think your marks read Zheng Yi Zao. Which I think mean made by Zheng Yi. I used a Chinese translator that I hand write on a grid. It is very difficult for me, not knowing stroke order and different penmanship and not so good eyesight. Most marks and writing, unless it's something I see, or have seen and have written down, I can't figure out. I feel intimidated by some of the extremely serious people on here, who are extremely well educated and versed, unlike the vast majority of the worlds population. I'm assuming most have many years of experience. They are volunteering their time and knowledge and we all appreciate it. Everyone has a busy life, so it's understandable if something goes unanswered. Some people I'm sure only reply to what may intrigue them. Maybe someone will eventually be able to give help you out with more information. Good luck
