Hello experts,
what do you think about this sculpture of Fukurokuju? It is most likely made of carved hongmu (mahagoni) wood. There are plenty of fine silver wire(?)inlays as can be seen on the photographs. The god is shown with his attributes ie. a crane and a black deer (one leg broken, one eye missing). I am fascinated by the heavy wood (carving) and the subtle inlays. The facial expression is not very charming, however. The teeths look like bone. Because of the silver inlay pattern I guess the sculpture is of chinese origin. Any ideas of the age? Is it worth to buy it for about 200 USD?
Thanks in advance
