Sorry about the quality of the photos. I wanted to provide a little more information for anyone who might find one of these. I was hoping to get an experts opinion and look forward to hear someone chime in. I did see a couple of these on the net, and they have been called a salt, footed dish, compote, Buddhist offering dish, and others. One was very similar shape and foot but had a benjarong pattern. Another similar one had one of the stickers that states "Tao-Kwang 1821-1850 guaranteed to be from the above mentioned period", but the expert selling it said it is from a little later than that. Does anyone know of these stickers? The close benjarong match was said to be Chinese export to Thai market. Most have a date listed as mid-late 19thc. This is min Yao design with stylized lotus petals. Perhaps made for Viet market?
