Subject:Any information on this painting
Posted By: James Mon, Aug 28, 2017 IP: 27.34.21.221

Can anyone provide any information on this painting, such as its origin, age or any information about how to find out its value?

Thanks,
HM Burleson/James Ward

Your woodblock print is Japanese.
The title and signature reads,
甲陽猿橋之圖 Koyo Saruhashi no Zu
Saruhashi Bridge in Kai Province
廣重 Hiroshige (Signature)
Utagawa Hiroshige 1794-1858
This print according to the literature dates
1842.
On the net you will surely find your print,
With regards,

Your Japanese woodblock print of the Monkey Bridge in Kai Province is by Hiroshige. Here is one at the Boston MFA:

It may be an original. Your photos aren't good enough to make more than a guess.

Cheers,
Stan

I'd like to correct my statement above. I compared your print to the link I gave. I note that that is a Meiji reproduction. Therefore, I believe your print is a Meiji reproduction, NOT an original print.

Cheers,
Stan
