I hope this gets posted. Does anyone know what this is called ? Also can anyone make out the signature ?

As you are the only poster today asking for a translation who has the courtesy to show the whole object, I am very happy to offer an opinion.

This is a brush pot, possibly Korean, and the signature is (in Chinese - sorry don't know the Korean equivalent) Tai Cheng 泰成。

Looks a very nice piece. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mike, yes most likely Korean a lady told me today.But it's strange that the signature is in Chinese, she didn't understand why.

Hi Billy,

You have a Korean brush/pencil holder. These are patterned from brush holders for calligraphy brushes. Sorry, I can't read the script. This one was purchased new in Seoul in the 1980's from a street vendor. Height. 4"; Diameter 3 ½"
