Subject:Help identify small figure carving.

I have had this little statue for quite a while. I have tried to identify it and vind a value. I have not been able to and am wondering if someone can.
It is about 6" tall. Has a little weight to it so I don't think it is soapstone. maybe alabaster or marble??? Has markings over it but no idea what they are about. Pretty sure it is quite old but just a guess.
