Subject:Japanese Porcelain Dish
Posted By: andrea Thu, Jul 27, 2017 IP: 2601:643:2:9040:e08a

Hoping somebody can help me identify and date this porcelain dish. It measures approximately 5"x5". Thank you!

The mark is a Fuku 福 mark, probably a Meiji Period (1868-1912) dish. Perhaps someone else can tell more about age and origin.
Regards,
Martin.

Looks like it has underglaze blue, but also a crackled Satsuma glaze. Satsuma was usually painted with overglaze enamels. It features an underglaze blue Kirin with Imari-like scrolling decorations. I would say late 19th Century.
