Assuming this is Japanese, the characters are 菱三 which is most likely Ryosan (ON-reading), although the Google translator gives Hishisan (?).

Thanks Martin. I followed up on Ryosan and came up with nothing. But, after researching Hishisan I was able to associate that with a similar type of pottery (as far as the surface characteristics) although not as modern in design. I appreciate the insight.
