Subject:Japanese Inscription on Toggle
Posted By: Rob Sat, Jun 17, 2017 IP: 73.191.105.141

I have a carved wooden toggle that is intended to look old and Japanese. It has these characters in addition to others that look like spurious archaic Chinese. Could someone let me know if these characters are comprehensible and if so what they signify? Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, It's Japanese.

The signature says:
一齋道人刀 = Carved by Issai-dhojin
