Subject:Archaic Chinese Inscription

Could anyone help translate this inscription on an old Chinese bronze "gravy boat"? Thanks.

1. What on earth is a 'gravy boat' in archaic Chinese wares?

2. What does this 'gravy boat' look like?

3. The inscriptions don't look Chinese. One part does, but a critical line is missing.

4. I have never seen a Capital letter 'A' on Chinese pottery before. Particularly not where a base line extends beyond either or both descending strokes.

5. The two kneeling figures look as if they could have been copied from something authentic, but I have been unable to find anything similar.

Thanks for your thoughtful note. You're right to call me out for the informal description. I think it's a yi form, and if genuine looks like bronzes I've seen described as late Western Zhou. Pictures attached.
