Subject:Large Blue & White 8 Side Vase w Notched Corners
Posted By: Eddie Mon, May 29, 2017 IP: 70.195.203.191

Need help identifying vase re region, age and any info which might help me do further research.
Have had it for short while. Came from a local estate and, according to the family it has been part of the house furnishing for several decades. It was bought by their grandfather and they had no further information than it was old.
The vase has overall crazing, including some within the interior. The handles I believe are meant to be dragons. One has a glaze crack at the top where it connects to the body. Bboth the handles and vase has some grayish spotting, more pronounced on the handles. Some pitting which can be seen. I have uploaded more pics which can be enlarged on the linked site.
Thank you.

Height 20 1/2"
Width is approx 9" with notched corners at 2"
top diagonal 8" and side to side or across approx 5 1/2"
the handles are 5"h x 1 5/8"w with depth of 2 3/8"
Large panels 6 3/4" h& w
small panels 3 3/8"w x 3 1/4"h
Base measures 8" with corners approx. 2"

I believe it is all hand painted with 2 panels having landscape scenes and the other 2 beautiful women within clouds. I am not sure but believe the lady might be Chang'e or Chang-o. In one panel the lady holds a rabbit and in the other I am not sure what is in her arms. The blue is quite dark in some spots going lighter with some having a purle hue and there is some grayish tone to some of the outerlines
