Subject:Old humorous Japanese woodblock print - clothed octopus
Posted By: Matt Thatcher Sat, May 27, 2017 IP: 78.146.61.111

Hi,
I bought this woodblock print a while back, thinking it was quite fun. I showed it to a friend of mine who said the old calligraphy was unreadable these days!
Has anyone seen this seal before? My own limited resources haven't shed any light on it..
Thanks very much for your time,
Matt

I read the signature as 珍二 ('Chinni' or 'Chinchi') and the seal as 裡 ('Ri' or 'Ura') but I find no further references. Could be a nickname. The poem is probably a kyoka.

Guy.
