Hello,

A finely carved ruby red overlay of a dragon and flaming pearl on both main sides with incised reign mark. I am hoping someone will be able to decipher the mark for me.
Ht: 2 7/16"; 6.2 cm

thank you for looking kind regards

Mark highlighted in yellow which may help in deciphering the characters

It looks new and unused for its intended purpose - to contain snuff. I think a clear glass bottle full of snuff would be ugly. Our glass bottles that appear to have some age and contain snuff residue are all opaque.

Cheers,
Stan

Thank you Stan,
The ruby glass bottle has a brownish stain to the interior from use, but more importantly the size is correct for use as a snuff bottle. W/the dragon having four claws rather than five with the mark, leads me to believe the bottle has genuine age, otherwise, if a copy a dragon of five claws might be expected to show greater importance/ value as meant for imperial use
W/regrets, I can say the snowflake bottle is recent- as the finer snowflake patterns are found in the older examples.
The shapes and patterns on the other 2 that you have are also commonly found on the recent examples

Best,

Kevin
