Subject:Archaic Jade Bangle WITH PICS

Hi All,

New to this board but have found some real valuable information and I thank you all! I have a piece which I believe might be a piece of archaic Jade. I am a collector and dealer of antiques and do notice some serious age on this piece and a nice patina as well. I purchased it from another dealer who had some very nice Chinese and Japanese works and told me it was old and that he thought it was basalt. I could see the gelreen and red and put a flashlight to it and it is a beautiful green!

Anyone have an idea about what we might be looking at? Real, repro? I am sure with the amount of knowledge on here somebody might know! Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Casey

The bad news is that this looks very much like the tons af very large bangles, which came to Canada in 60-80 lbs. containers. Some of those bangles looked very good, but they had one thing in common, they were made from various types of Serpentine. A simple scratch test will determine that.
