Good afternoon. I would like to hear the opinion of the forum participants - insert jade or serpentine as the carved stone?

Jade has been used in the good old days, but later the carvers liked Serpentine better, as it is a softer stone and therefore easier to carve. , yet it was still sold as Jade.

A scratch test will easily tell those stones apart

Thank you, Ernest. I bought a box in cloisonné technique, with insert, when I get the box, will show the photo. It is a pity that the test scratches are possible when purchasing from hand to hand.
