The diaspora of Asian artists living and working in London is long-established and forms a vital part of the cultural scene. This panel will discuss the significance of Asian artists and their practices in relation to their visibility within an increasingly globalised art world. It will address the extent to which Asian artists living, working and exhibiting in the capital need specialised platforms to be appreciated more widely with regard to the question of translatability of culture.
Chair: Dr Katie Hill, Programme Director, MA in Modern and Contemporary Asian Art, Sotheby's Institute of Art, London
