Pair of Famille Verte Lobed Baluster Jars And Covers

Each vase of tall slender baluster form, lobed vertically with twelve fluted ribs is decorated with two rows of six shaped panels set between a lower band of geometric pattern and a similar band at the shoulder reserves with panels of kylin and chilong set between diapered bands. The lower panels with mythical creatures in open landscapes and floral cartouches, while the upper panels are decorated with birds perched on rockwork amongst flowering branches and landscapes. The necks are decorated with antiques and precious objects while the covers with basket-form unglazed knops are decorated with ruyi-form diaper patterned lappets over various Buddhistic precious objects. The bases are unglazed.
