YiXing Tea Pots |
Posted By: chris Posted Date: Sep 17, 2013 (11:15 AM) |
Message The top pot is one of a group made in the same style. Small, pear shaped with a double line partition with an inscription above. All the examples I have seen have the same inscription which says some along the lines of "holds little more than a spoon". What differs on each is the knop. I have in my collection pots with a pine, a frog, a peach and a leaping fish. I am sure there are more. Not all have the same signature. Yours says Yi Gong, one of mine has Mengchen another with a four character seal. Interesting pots and usually beautifully modeled. Post a Response |
