Altar table |

Message Carved wood is not good quality as well as gold painting . As much as I can see in 2nd photo, wood exposed in the lower face of the table is very light color and was covered with a dark brown pigment emulsion, thus table was probably made on camphor wood (can you smell a soft volatile odor of camphor ?). Usually the odor is more preserved on trunks because they are closed, anyway try to catch some camphor odor. Antique trunks always used noble wood such as Huanghuali (Yellow Rosewood), Hongmu and many kind of wood generally named "Rosewood". In my opinion is not old, definitely.
