Message Wait… wait……. Don’t throw away your bowl now on base on the opinion(s) so far. (sorry Cal) I’m “at work” now and can’t post pictures here. I hope I can post some, to compare, tonight or maybe tomorrow. As mentioned by Cal and suggested by me your bowl has the “Black Ship decoration/ theme”. But this “theme” and your bowl is Japanese and not Chinese. Most collectors know the examples (f.i. Dashoji) of the Meiji period with this theme wich are often finely decorated. Compared to these yours looks a bit naïve or -as Cal called it- poorly painted. I agree with Cal that often this is a sign of later remake but in this case, I think, it’s not. Imho It’s the opposite this time and I think that yours is older than the Meiji ones. So keep your bowl for the moment and please wait for my pictures so you can make your own conclusion.
