A believed 19th century Chinese hardwood chair |

Message Dear Forum, I bought the chair recently at auction with a view to (I hope) repairing it. I am finding some difficulty though finding anything similar for comparison. My questions to the forum are 1) Could anyone offer any information identifying what sort of chair it is, 2) when it might have been made and 3) what type of wood it is made from. Below are photos of the chair, the underside of the piece and a close up of the top of the arm rest (this area best shows the grain). Many thanks and all the best. |
